Carpet Cleaning

Carpets hold more than they show. Dust, allergens, bacteria, pet dander, and deeply embedded dirt all accumulate in the fibres over time, well below what regular vacuuming can reach. At Luna Dry Cleaning, we use advanced deep-cleaning equipment and eco-friendly solutions to extract what's built up, leaving your carpet genuinely clean rather than just surface-fresh.

Whether it's a high-traffic area rug, a living room carpet, or flooring across an entire office, we pick up, clean thoroughly, and return everything fresh, sanitised, and ready to use. Safe for children, safe for pets, and delivered back to your door.

What We Clean

Every carpet type, handled appropriately

If you're not sure if we can clean something, just ask, we're happy to take a look.

Residential carpets
Residential carpets

Wall-to-wall carpeting, bedroom carpet, hallways, and stairs; we handle all standard residential carpet types including synthetic, nylon, polyester, and blended fibres. High-traffic areas and heavily soiled sections are pre-treated before the main clean.

Area rugs
Area rugs

Area rugs vary significantly in construction and material: wool, cotton, jute, silk blends, and synthetic; each requires a different approach. We assess the rug before cleaning and select a method appropriate to the pile, weave, and dye stability to avoid shrinkage, colour bleed, or fibre damage.

Oriental & Persian rugs
Oriental & Persian rugs

Handwoven rugs are among the most delicate items we clean. We handle them with the care their construction demands; gentle methods, no harsh agitation, and a thorough inspection before and after cleaning. These are investments worth protecting properly.

Commercial carpets
Commercial carpets

Office flooring, reception areas, and commercial spaces accumulate significantly more soiling than residential carpets. We offer flexible scheduling for commercial clients so cleaning can happen outside of business hours without disrupting operations.

Stair carpets & runners
Stair carpets & runners

High-contact, high-friction surfaces that wear faster than any other area. We pay particular attention to tread edges and heavily worn sections.

Our Process

Thorough from the first step to the last

No shortcuts, no guesswork. Each step exists for a reason.

1
Inspection
We assess the carpet before anything touches it: fibre type, pile density, existing stains, areas of heavy soiling, and any damage. This determines the cleaning method and pre-treatment required..
2
Pre-treatment
Problem areas are treated individually before the main clean begins. Stains, high-traffic zones, and pet-affected areas all receive targeted pre-treatment to break down what's embedded before extraction.
3
Deep cleaning
We use hot water extraction, widely regarded as the most effective method for removing deeply embedded dirt, bacteria, and allergens from carpet fibres. The process flushes the pile thoroughly and extracts the residue, leaving fibres clean rather than just dampened.
4
Stain treatment
Any remaining staining is addressed after the main clean. We work through stubborn marks: wine, grease, pet stains, mud; methodically rather than masking them.
5
Deodorising
Carpets trap odours from pets, cooking, moisture, and general use. We treat the fibres directly rather than applying a surface fragrance, neutralising the source of the smell rather than covering it.
6
Drying & finishing
After cleaning, the carpet is properly dried before return. Fibres are finished to restore the natural texture and direction of the pile so the carpet looks and feels as it should underfoot.

Why It Matters

Vacuuming maintains. Professional cleaning restores.

Regular vacuuming removes surface debris but doesn't reach what's embedded deeper in the pile, and that's where most of the damage happens. Dirt particles work their way into fibres and act like sandpaper with every footstep, gradually breaking down the carpet from the inside. Allergens, bacteria, and pet dander accumulate in layers that household equipment simply can't extract.

A professional deep clean removes what's built up, restores the texture and appearance of the pile, neutralises odours at the source, and meaningfully extends the life of the carpet. It also matters for air quality; carpets act as a filter for the air in a room, and a dirty carpet releases what it's trapped back into the space.

Eco-Friendly

Safe for your family, better for your floors

All cleaning solutions we use are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and free from harsh chemicals. They're safe for children and pets and won't leave behind residues that irritate skin or airways. We chose them because they're effective, and because a cleaner home shouldn't come at the cost of the people and animals living in it.

Care Tips

Keep it cleaner between professional cleans

A little consistency between cleans goes a long way toward protecting your carpet long-term.

Vacuum consistently

At least once a week in low-traffic areas, more frequently in hallways and living spaces. The more surface debris you remove regularly, the slower the deep soiling builds up.

Blot spills immediately, never rub

Rubbing pushes liquid deeper into the pile and spreads the stain outward. Blot firmly with a clean cloth, working from the outside of the spill inward.

Rotate area rugs every 6-12 months

Even wear across the whole surface rather than concentrated wear in one direction preserves the pile and the colour more evenly.

Use entrance mats

A significant proportion of the dirt in any carpet comes in on shoes. Mats at entry points reduce how much reaches the carpet in the first place.

Book a professional clean before the damage is visible

By the time a carpet looks dirty, it's been dirty for a while. Annual or bi-annual professional cleaning maintains the carpet properly rather than playing catch-up.

“Nice and helpful. They did a great cleaning job for me at a fair price.”
